Menahem Halberstadt (Born in 1981, Israel) is a painter and visual artist,
He studied with the painters Leonid Balaklav, Aram Gershuni, and Mark Yanai, and also in the Animation Department at the Bezalel Academy of Art , and in the Graphic Design unit at Hadassah College.
His work moves between oil painting, drawing, and mixed media. His imagery often draws on Jewish sources and the religious life in which he grew up, bringing them into dialogue with personal and universal questions of time, memory, and place. His works have been shown in various exhibition settings, and are held in private and institutional collections.
Halberstadt teaches painting and drawing in various frameworks, and alongside his work as a painter is also active as an illustrator, with his work appearing over the years in the Israeli press and in literature.
In 2021, Halberstadt received the Minister of Culture Prize.
